In the Victorian era, iron consoles such as this one were often found in conservatories loaded with blooming orchids. The ironwork, usually of blooming vines, was designed to capture the romance of the garden. Our marble topped cast iron console, adapted from an 1880 French antique, is no shrinking violet even though it’s a bit rustic and a bit distressed. Because of its weight, we recommend mounting it to the wall (hardware not included).
