Whenever art and spirituality meet, beauty finds its highest form. Take this vintage dome, for example. Inside are unique relics gathered in veneration to the Virgin Mary. Collections like these originally filled entire rooms, becoming a popular trend in 17th-century Europe. These rooms, called cabinets of curiosities, displayed found objects and artifacts from a specific genre or study, such as biology, nature, or art. Over time curiosities became smaller and more distinct but still retained their artfulness.
