No one knows who invented the first bar or counter stool—it's said to be out of necessity, made from old wooden chairs. In the 1950s and 60s counter stools took off, found in nearly every restaurant or bar. It was during this time they were changing shape, size, and color—made with different materials and in different styles. Inspired by this evolutionary time in American design, we designed our Emerson Counter Stool in-house, a modern interpretation of this evocative period. High seating is framed in brushed stainless steel with a white linen cushion, lending a stylish, updated retro complement to any counter or bar.

Beyond Gorgeous!

I just received these stools and they are even prettier than I expected. I was worried the metal would feel thin, but they are very sturdy. Super cool and really well made!

EXACTLY what I was looking for!!!!!

by - verified purchaser
I am beyond pleased with these counter stools! Solid construction. Firm seat. The color brass is a perfect brushed brass. I suspect the white will stain, but I will apply a fabric protector to prolong their life! And when the time comes I will recover with a wipeable fabric. They seats are easily removed for recovering too!

The only thing I must figure out is what I can adhere to the base to make them pull out smoothly on my brick floors......
