The original of this ballerina chair was a favorite of the French interior decorator Madeleine Castaing. Friend and patron of both Picasso and Chagall, her famous shop on Rue Jacob in Paris’s 7th arrondissement was once the heart of fashionable (if eccentric) décor. She adored this chair with its four delicate ballerina legs, feet en point and blue ribbons at the knees, when her imagination ran away with itself.
