Bring French Mid-Century Modern design into your home with our French Modernist Arm Chair. A handsome juxtaposition of sleek arms and rough handwoven rope back, this chair is designed after the one by Vibo from the mid-1900s, created by French designers Adrien Audoux and Frida Minet. The arms of ours are made from thinly sliced mahogany bent and laminated together by hand, which gives it a little spring. The back is hand-braided from abaca, the strongest fiber on the market, so each will vary in color due to this. It's one very comfortable chair.

This chair is gorgeous, but it's uncomfortable. Even worse, it's not well made. The webbing in the seat started splitting the first week we had it. But I have to give Wisteria credit -- they handled my return very well. Very professional.
The chair is shorter than expected, and as such the back ends right under your shoulder blades for most people who are under 6' tall. Not comfortable. It's possibly good for a chair that you look at but don't sit in for longer than 15 min. The seat isn't comfortable as it isn't solid rope, and has an underlining of some type of fabric support. Which is weird.
Because the back is shorter than it should be the wide arms make it look even squatter. It is a giant disappointment, especially for the price.
The chair is visually awesome and they are quite comfortable. I have had them 1 year. The major complaint as to why people should NOT buy this chair is the paint/varnish flakes off and your chair looks like it has scuff marks all over it...There is no way to fix this other than to repaint it. I called Wisteria and they referred me to their maintenance handbook on care...
Thank you so much for your feedback. We have never heard of this happening before with this chair. We will look into this matter.
