Kantha is a typical embroidery used in India to make simple quilts. It began as a tradition when Bengali women would mend clothing by using the colorful thread from their saris to create new designs. Our Purple/Chocolate version of this pattern uses 100% silk fabric on one side and cotton on the other. The pieces are stitched with cotton thread. An added plus: It is reversible, so it's like you're getting two jackets for the price of one! Each side is trimmed with the opposite color fabric, giving this jacket a finished touch and a little extra durability.
