ASSISTANT BUYER



The Assistant Buyer is responsible for all aspects of the active product life cycle within the assigned product category. Core ownership areas include:



BUYING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and determine inventory needs to maximize company revenue, margin and turn.  Analysis to be completed at SKU, vendor and larger category or trend level.
  • Complete vendor and category recaps to provide information on past performance and future opportunities.
  • Be the owner and champion of all products from assigned category.  This will entail collecting and managing product information for use by all cross functional departments.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of current and future product assortment as it relates to the general marketplace, including trends, price and quality; react accordingly to impact sales and gross margin.
  • Write, detail and follow-up on product and sample purchase orders and delivery timelines.
BUSINESS ANALYSIS

  • Perform market analysis and competitive shop to assist Director of Buying in the development of future merchandise strategies and assortments.
  • Analysis for specific vendors and product:
    • Revenue and margin
    • Compiling and reviewing new and existing product sales
    • Prepare new buys and reorders
    • Markdowns and stock levels
    • Retail changes and cost changes
    • Find proactive solutions to support continuous improvement for key department metrics.


KEY COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE

  • Basic knowledge of retail math principles.
  • Strong data management skills- including intermediate capabilities with Excel and Word.
  • The ability to use and understand financial and numerical data to make decisions and influence outcomes.
  • Manage multiple tasks and effectively prioritize departmental responsibilities and vendor communications.
  • Strong analytical skills- must be able to assemble and interpret data, problem solve and deliver insights and recommendations.
  • Solid communication skills- ability to effectively communicate across all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent problem solving skills – the ability to understand and explain complex issues, but also clearly identify and communicate the situation at a high level.

ASSISTANT MERCHANDISE PLANNER



Wisteria is currently interviewing to fill an open position of Assistant Merchandise Planner.  The Assistant Merchandise Planner serves as a key player and component to the Buying and Planning Division. This role is entry level and develops into the Assistant Buyer position.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Senior Merchandise Planner with maintaining Merchandise Plans for catalog, web, and stores that roll up to a company-wide Merchandise Plan with Open-To-Buy.
  • Maintain department/class sales and inventory reporting for catalog, web, stores
  • Evaluate inventory supply and suggest reorder quantities to support promotional events and communicate issues to marketing representatives/upper management.
  • Assist in determining promotional and event pricing for catalog, web, and stores
  • Pull ad hoc reporting as needed from Senior Merchandise Planner, Assistant Buyers, Senior Buyer, and Director of Merchandising and Planner.
  • Participate in all meetings, training, and development sessions within Buying and Planning division.

MERCHANDISE COORDINATOR



Wisteria is currently interviewing to fill an open position of Merchandise Coordinator.  The Merchandise Coordinator serves as a key player and component to the Buying and Planning Division. This role is entry level and develops into the Assistant Buyer position.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Accurately manage new sku and vendor setup.
  • Facilitate new product questionnaire process between corporate office and overseas Account Managers.
  • Input and follow up on all product questionnaire details including product measurements, specifications, exclusivity, etc.
  • Ensure all items and their respective statuses and pricing are up to date, and all active items are input into company system in a timely manner.
  • Participate in all meetings, training, and development sessions within Buying division.
  • Independently manage reorders for pillow fills and lampshades.

FRAMING ASSOCIATE



The Framing Associate will be responsible for framing and packaging wall art and supporting in-house wall art production.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Package completed wall art pieces.
  • Transport wall art to designated pick areas in warehouse
  • Deliver framing components (frames, glass, backers) to framing workspace.
  • Keep framing components and packaging supplies organized in the warehouse.
  • Monitor packaging supply levels.
  • Frame wall art.
  • Inspect framing components and completed wall art pieces to ensure quality control.


KEY COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE

  • Strong hand skills and attention to detail.
  • Appreciation of safety concerns in dealing with glass.
  • Ability to lift 40 lbs. regularly.

ASSISTANT MANAGER, RETAIL OPERATIONS



The Assistant Manager, Retail Operations will be a member of the store management team but also work closely with the Mockingbird Warehouse team and report to the Director of Warehouse Operations.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Effectively managing product transfers.
  • Managing price changes.
  • Tagging of merchandise.
  • Ordering and organizing all store supplies.
  • Maintaining accurate inventory.
  • Basic facility maintenance.
  • Developing strong communication links between departments.
  • Maintaining all local and state regulations for facility and OSHA regulations and safety standards.
  • Opening and closing duties.


KEY COMPETENCIES AND EXPERIENCE

  • 3+ years of retail management experience.
  • Strong organizational skills, with attention to details.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Experienced user of all Microsoft applications such as Excel and Word.
  • Strategic and independent thinking, planning, and follow-through skills.
  • Self-motivated and decisive.
  • Detail oriented with creative problem solving skills.
  • Ability to execute under accelerated timeframes.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to change in priorities.
