SENIOR DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AND BRAND



We are searching for an energetic, professional, and dedicated person for the position of Senior Director of Marketing and Brand.  This candidate will oversee all Wisteria marketing efforts, both internally and externally, including the catalog, e-commerce, social media and retail channels. The successful candidate will possess strong organizational skills, project management ability, analytical aptitude, and be a creative problem solver. The Senior Director of Marketing and Brand is responsible for the strategy, tactics and programs to create interest, demand and recognition for Wisteria and in turn translate this brand awareness into increasing sales. This position will be the “hub” for the cohesive planning and execution of promotions for all revenue channels including catalog, e-mail, e-commerce and stores.  They must ensure a consistent message, maintaining the Wisteria brand while growing revenue. This position reports directly to the President.



RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Responsible for all aspects of marketing as it relates to ecommerce, email, catalog and retail channels.
  • Creating annual and quarterly strategic and tactical marketing plans.
  • Responsible for competitive analysis and marketing strategy.
  • Assess the effectiveness of the marketing department and implement improvements.
  • Manage and train marketing staff.
  • Create and maintain marketing budgets.
  • Generate a monthly summary report and comprehensive quarterly and annual marketing reports.
  • Work to create the media schedule, negotiate the rates, prepare the deliverables and execute.
  • Follow-up and measure all campaigns through all channels.
  • Increase and maintain Wisteria’s e-commerce presence by increasing conversion rates and assisting in making wisteria.com a destination to buy, teach and entertain customers.
  • Responsible for managing traditional marketing and PR.
  • Work with the Production, Merchandising, and Design & Development department to ensure a consistent look and voice among all channels.
  • Disseminate information throughout the company internally as well throughout all media outlets externally.
  • Excellent communication with President, Vice Presidents and Directors, as well as all members of the Wisteria community.
CRITICAL SKILLS INCLUDE:

  • Extensive knowledge in creating and maintaining a marketing plan and calendar.

  • Extensive knowledge in channel marketing, product marketing, presentation, sales and strong training skills.

  • Knowledge in catalog circulation and marketing.
  • Qualified candidates will also have strong organizational skills, be able to work effectively under deadlines and manage concurrent projects.
  • Ability to execute under accelerated timeframes.
  • Ability to quickly adapt to change in priorities.
  • Experienced user of all Microsoft applications such as Excel, Outlook, and Word.
  • Ability to think creatively and juggle many tasks and personalities at once.
  • Understanding of both Mac and PC platforms.

EXPERIENCE:

  • 5 years experience as Senior Director / VP Marketing.
  • 5 years experience with omni-channel retail (catalog and brick/mortar are plusses).
  • 5 years of working with Creative departments.
  • 3 years or more experience creating strategic plans for Ecommerce, Email, and Web revenue.

DIRECTOR OF STORES



Wisteria plans to aggressively expand its brick and mortar retail presence in the near future.  The Director of Stores will help manage this growth throughout the country while overseeing the management of the current store.  This position will report to the VP of Merchandising.



RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Ensure the Wisteria brand is effectively communicated through the brick and mortar stores.
  • Provide excellent customer service and help propel Wisteria toward its omni-channel ideal.
  • Create and implement procedures that maximize revenue, efficiency and inventory accuracy.
  • Work with buying team to optimize merchandise mix and fully develop category opportunities.
  • Build business plans for new stores and help lead this growth initiative.
  • Develop and achieve an aggressive but realistic sales plan.
  • Work with Marketing Department to maximize sales.
  • Oversee the visuals team’s efforts to create merchandising floor plans that maximize sales per square foot and create an inviting, fresh environment each time a customer visits.
IDEAL CANDIDATE PROFILE:

  • 5-10 years of Director level retail management experience.
  • Understanding of the Wisteria brand/mission and capability of creating a dynamic experience for customers and employees.
  • Experience or understanding of luxury brand retailing.
  • Proven team builder/leader.
  • Successful track record for managing multiple retail units.
  • Managed successful new store launches.
  • Experience managing P&L responsibilities, including inventory management.
  • Experience working with corporate buying/planning team regarding assortment and inventory levels.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR Wisteria seeks a Project Management Coordinator to work with the Design and Development team. This individual will work directly with the Design and Brand Management Team.  Reporting to the Associate Project Manager, the Project Management Coordinator will help organize and log all new product ideas for the department, perform project research & competitive shopping. This position also requires coordination, organization and preparation for bi monthly Brand Management Team meetings. This is a position for a team player with a great attitude; a strong interest and passion for product; an organized person who exhibits attention to detail. Specifically, the Product Management Coordinator will:
  • Update and Manage Product Development Details in File Maker Pro & Net Suite including:
    • Create new product sheets for new development projects
    • Link item numbers to room scenes
    • Assign themes to new products
    • Assign and up keep target book dates
  • Responsible for managing database of new ideas from the President and Brand Management Team including:
    • Scan any necessary documents and/or images from Design, and Product Development.
    • Keep project status up to date in the system
    • Maintain file system for all original scans and documents for new ideas
  • Design Research:
    • Research for Design and Development (competitive shopping, patents, history of origin etc.)

ASSISTANT BUYER



The Assistant Buyer is responsible for all aspects of the active product life cycle within the assigned product category. Core ownership areas include:



BUYING RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and determine inventory needs to maximize company revenue, margin and turn.  Analysis to be completed at SKU, vendor and larger category or trend level.
  • Complete vendor and category recaps to provide information on past performance and future opportunities.
  • Be the owner and champion of all products from assigned category.  This will entail collecting and managing product information for use by all cross functional departments.
  • Maintain a working knowledge of current and future product assortment as it relates to the general marketplace, including trends, price and quality; react accordingly to impact sales and gross margin.
  • Write, detail and follow-up on product and sample purchase orders and delivery timelines.
BUSINESS ANALYSIS

  • Perform market analysis and competitive shop to assist Director of Buying in the development of future merchandise strategies and assortments.
  • Analysis for specific vendors and product:
    • Revenue and margin
    • Compiling and reviewing new and existing product sales
    • Prepare new buys and reorders
    • Markdowns and stock levels
    • Retail changes and cost changes
    • Find proactive solutions to support continuous improvement for key department metrics.

ASSISTANT MERCHANDISE PLANNER



Wisteria is currently interviewing to fill an open position of Assistant Merchandise Planner.  The Assistant Merchandise Planner serves as a key player and component to the Buying and Planning Division. This role is entry level and develops into the Assistant Buyer position.



RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Assist Senior Merchandise Planner with maintaining Merchandise Plans for catalog, web, and stores that roll up to a company-wide Merchandise Plan with Open-To-Buy.
  • Maintain department/class sales and inventory reporting for catalog, web, stores
  • Evaluate inventory supply and suggest reorder quantities to support promotional events and communicate issues to marketing representatives/upper management.
  • Assist in determining promotional and event pricing for catalog, web, and stores
  • Pull ad hoc reporting as needed from Senior Merchandise Planner, Assistant Buyers, Senior Buyer, and Director of Merchandising and Planner.
  • Participate in all meetings, training, and development sessions within Buying and Planning division.

MERCHANDISE COORDINATOR

  • Facilitate new product questionnaire process between corporate office and overseas Account Managers.
  • Input and follow up on all product questionnaire details including product measurements, specifications, exclusivity, etc.
  • Ensure all items and their respective statuses and pricing are up to date, and all active items are input into company system in a timely manner.
  • Participate in all meetings, training, and development sessions within Buying division.
  • Independently manage reorders for pillow fills and lampshades.
