Vice President of Marketing and Creative

The Vice President of Marketing and Creative is responsible for communicating Wisteria’s brand and mission through all marketing channels which includes but is not limited to; the look and voice of all catalogs, print collateral, website, print and online advertising, public relations, media coverage, signage, email campaigns and social media. The Vice President of Marketing and Creative is also fully responsible for achieving the revenue goals for the catalog and ecommerce/website channels and partially responsible for meeting the retail store revenue goal. All budgets must be balanced and met according to plan and all marketing initiatives and promotions must be tracked and analyzed for the return on investment. This individual must be a creative thinker and enjoy solving complex problems under timelines. This position will be heavily focused on growing our E-Commerce channel within the upcoming months while being responsible for managing many concurrent projects and working with multiple departments at Wisteria. The Vice President of Marketing and Creative reports directly to the President of Wisteria.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Understand the brand and the core mission of Wisteria and communicate it in all marketing activity.
- Be a key member of the Wisteria Leadership Team.
- Lead the Creative, Marketing and Ecommerce Departments.
- Manage and grow the catalog revenue.
- Manage and grow the ecommerce revenue.
- Manage and grow the retail channel revenue.
- Grow Wisteria’s customer base and catalog/ website house files.
- Strive to make the catalog the best amongst its peers.
- Ensure website aesthetic is “brand consistent” and a destination of not only a place to shop but a place to learn, experience, and connect with artisans and products of beauty and meaning from around the world.
- Ensure website is optimized through customer experience, search engine optimization, tags, URLs, and content.
- Oversee the budget for Creative, Production, Ecommerce and Marketing departments.
- Ensure all Marketing initiatives are communicated and achieved.
- Manage large contracts with vendors in regards to ecommerce, marketing or catalog channels.
- Maintain a professional atmosphere.
- Maintain excellent communication with all managers, directors, vice presidents and president.
- Review and approve all upcoming catalogs.
- Review and approve all emails.
- Review and approve all website changes.
- Work with Brand Management Team members to capture thoughts and ideas and communicate pertinent ideas to respective departments.
- This is full time position that includes working more than 40 hours a week.
Critical skills include:
- Over 10 years of upper level departmental management
- Over 5 years of E-Commerce strategic development and management experience
- Over 5 years of upper level Marketing experience
- Over 5 years of working with Creative departments
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Strong organizational skills, with attention to detail and dates.
- Ability to be flexible within the limitations of the production process.
- Experienced user of all Microsoft applications such as Excel, Outlook, and Word.
- Ability to think creatively and juggle many tasks and personalities at once.
- Strategic and independent thinking, planning, and follow-up skills.
- Understanding of both Mac and PC platforms.
- Self-motivated and decisive.
- Detail oriented with creative problem solving skills.
- Ability to execute under accelerated timeframes.
- Ability to quickly adapt to change in priorities.
