Ethiopian crosses are symbols of Christianity in Ethiopia, where they are appreciated for their elaborate lattice-work designs. While European missionaries brought Christianity to many places in Africa, this was not the case with Ethiopia. In fact, there is evidence that Christianity was embraced in the country as early as the first century, so it comes as no surprise that unlike familiar European Latin crosses, these have a distinct African feel. We've collected these one-of-a-kind treasures on our travels, and appreciate that each cross is as unique as the individual artist who made it. Please note that the base to fit both the medium and large size crosses is sold separately.
