Web Development Intern

The Position:

Wisteria is seeking a talented developer who can perform programming, integration and maintenance services in support of Wisteria’s e-commerce and digital activities. The Developer will partner closely with the Marketing Ecommerce/Digital and IT Teams to drive online conversion and deliver an exceptional customer experience. This is an exciting opportunity for someone to create a visually engaging, innovative, and functional web and mobile experience while staying true to the Wisteria brand. The Developer will be in responsible for coding, testing, debugging, documenting, and maintaining effortless user experience while driving profitable conversion. This may require off-hour, on-call support as needed according to schedule. The ideal candidate would have a strong understanding in some of the following areas of web site performance, tagging, monitoring, and optimizing opportunities. Will assist in testing and analyzing site functionality to optimize conversion. Will monitor customer site journey and identify improvements to user experience. Will suggest and execute development of new website content and functionality to drive digital conversion.

Responsibilities include:

  • Identify, troubleshoot, and fix UI or browser compatibility issues and optimize site performance
  • Provide technical guidance to support conversion optimization testing
  • Code new website functionality, visual enhancements as well as mobile developments

You'll also be expected to:

  • Manage time and deadlines while adapting to ever-changing business priorities
  • Be detail and results oriented with excellent problem-solving skills
  • Communicate with peers and management

Experience and degrees:

We are looking more for the right person than a person with a list of degrees or experience, however, it may be helpful to be that right person if you have the following:

  • Studying to become a web developer
  • 2+ years of experience in coding, HTML, CSS, XML, and JavaScript
  • Experience working within a CMS system (NetSuite SuiteCommerce Advanced highly preferred)
  • Experience in setting up and maintaining Google Tag Manager
  • Expert level of familiarity in regard to general website best practices
  • Strong understanding of UX/UIX
  • Moderate level familiarity with responsive websites
  • Moderate level familiarity with version control with git
  • Familiarity with the following a plus:
    • Backbone
    • Underscore
    • jQuery
    • Require.js
    • Bootstrap v3
    • Handlebars
    • Sass
  • Ecommerce & Retail experience a plus
