In a tortoise-shaped part of India called Kutch, these Very Old Stone Oil Lamps were recovered (in Gujarati, kachbo means tortoise). With modern updates and earthquake renovations continually happening there, architectural artifacts like these can be found throughout the various tribal villages in the region. The age and history of each one is as unique as its hand-carved façade. We like to use these lamps as candleholders in our fireplace to create a beautiful light in our den. They could also be used as a key holder near your front door or even as decorative pieces built into the walls in a room—the possibilities are endless.
